MIAMI, United States (AFP) - Shaquille O'Neal, who sat out the last two games with a tight hamstring, scored 15 points and pulled down six rebounds as Miami beat Atlanta 92-82 in the Heat's only National Basketball Association pre-season game at home.
O'Neal, newly acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers scored 11 of Miami's first 15 points and helped hold the Hawks to 25 percent shooting from the field in the first half.
Dwayne Wade, an NBA All-Rookie selection last season, had 14 of his 18 points in the second quarter, including a reverse two-handed dunk after making a steal from Boris Diaw, as the Heat jumped out to a 55-29 halftime lead in a game they never trailed.
