ok i have been doing this for about 15 years now, remove the plate from your turntable's and place them down on a towel and spray the top of the plate with "armor all" and let it sit for about 3 min. or so then wipe them off with a soft towel follow this step about 2 to 3 times them place them back on the table's place back your slip mats and go for a nice spin.. i have also used "car wax" on them also just make sure you use the wax that has carnuba in it, it will last longer but i like the effect i get from using "armor all" i do this about every six months on my table's try it..........

Another way to make your slip mats slide better is to iron the backside of the mats and while they are still hot, Use an Extra Hold Hair Spray on the backside only.
Let them dry for about 5 minutes before replacing them on the turntables.
This will make the bottom side slick, therefore achieving a smoother sliding motion during cueing of your records.
