Circus Disco Has It Going On!

(API) West Hollywood, California

Circus certainly had it going on last night. Impressive! Is the only word I can come up with to describe this event. Circus's capacity to pack in the party people is somewhere around 1800. The club has seven areas to enjoy oneself. I remember the old days when we would go to the Quiet Cannon in the 90's and we would Flash our V.I.P cards to get into the club. There was something about impressing you lady as you walked to the "No Waiting V.I.P line", and the security doorman would pull the velvet rope aside and to be funny he would say, " Please move aside V.I.P coming through." Well that is the same feeling you get when you go to the V.I.P lounge section, no not section, but an entire Disco Dance club area with a private dance floor, a private bar, a private panoramic overview of the entire main dance floor. Totally sir unreal! I was getting a little hungry and the next thing I know we are dining on champagne wishes and caviar Dreams. OK it was ham and turkey slices rolled up with cheese, but it was g-o-o-d. Next time maybe they will order up some tamales. Oh! Don’t bother trying to get upstairs from the main floor because security is tight. Brother, if you want to impress that sweetie of yours...you better be wearing the V.I.P band or be flashing your V.I.P lounge pass card. Don’t even try going around the back to the second main dance floor because there is some guy about 6'7" name Guido who will be there to greet you. So we order our drinks from the V.I.P. bar and we walk down the stairs on to the biggest, polished dancers dream of a wooden dance floor I have seen, since The Golden West Ballroom on Firestone in Downey, since my old after-hours party days in the 70s. Next thing I know Mr. Circus Disco Martine Rodriguez starts playing some very classic 70s hustle musica. Hey wait a minute...I don't want lug my coat around...no problem. Circus has an old style coat check room. How cool is that? Next thing I know is that there are all these Hustle Dancers on the dance floor. The likes of which I haven't seen since the 70s at the Pantera Rosa for you kids that may not remember. Let me tell you all the DJs were great! What can I say? Watching Joe Midnight Desire in the Dj booth and on the floor had me jealous with envy. Not only can Midnight Joe Desire spin the vinyl....he dances a mean 70s Old School die-hard Hustle step. Joe is as bad as he wants to be. So what's in your wallet! It is getting a little warm so we go out to large patio area to get some fresh air. Don't worry if it gets a little cold because they have large outdoor heaters everywhere. Now should you get a little hungry, you can feast on hot dogs, soft tacos, cheeseburgers or how about a quesadilla to boot. Sound good right? No not even, why you say that? Well because now Tapps is hitting the stage with all their classics. Everybody stampedes over to the other side of the dance floor as people are getting on stage with the singers. Tapps encourages the help as they are singing. I have been to some concerts and security will guard the singers like the secret service guards the president. Let me recap it for you: 3 Dance floors, 5 Full Bars, I never had to go on the offensive to get a drink, State of the Art Lights and Sound System and a Large Outdoor Patio with delicious food. Now please step aside and excuse me because I have to make my plans for the next upcoming event!

Make you plans now to see "Lime on Stage". Check you friendly websites for more info.

I would like to thank Frank, Silly and Arthur Ochoa for their hospitality. I would also like to thank the owners and management staff of Circus Disco and its employee’s for making the night a memorable experience. A special thanks to "Oldschool flyers of Gruvworks."

Great job JB Entertainment * DiscoXpress * Gruvworks and Elegant Disco

Rude Dawg of Disco

I am truly speechless your words and the way you express them in writing are truly a work of art. If there is anyone to envy it is you my newfound friend. I often wonder how does a man that has dedicated his life to the art of Djing put into words like you have done. It really brings me great joy to see you having so much fun on the dance floor. I am truly honored to see you have taken the time to include me in your last post.

I have to get to work now. But I look forward to seeing you soon.

Love and Peace to you and your family

-Joe-

The last time I was at Circus Disco was in 1989 and I had to get fake IDs back then to get in at the time.I dont recall having as much fun back then as I did on Sunday evening.

Being in the VIP room was something I never thought I would have the privilige of experiencing..it was truly amazing having the dance floor to yourself and enjoying little perks that came with it.The caviar was unique, what a special touchI went to celebrate a Birthday of a special lady and also my best friend BlondieSeeing Tapps perform and listening to them sing my favorite one BURNING WITH FIRE was the best thing ever...also meeting Joe Midnight Desire and Arthur P.Ochoa who was a total gentleman.

I will try and make it this Sunday to see LIME...Blondie,thanks for all the laughs and all the fun we had!!! It was great!

Joe,

You are the salt of the Earth we spinkle on friendship.

Sylvia and I had a fantastic time partying with you on Sunday night.

Bro, thanks for helping me out by dancing a few steps with Sylvia, my better half for me.  I was completely out of it having worked 16 hours just earlier. I would not have missed being at Circus even if I had worked 16.50 hours. I am still recovering.....

Take Care my friend,

Rude Dawg

Rude Dawg of Disco,

16 hours?  Man don't know how you did it. I want to thank you and your lovely wife Silvia for the dance. It's in our blood to want to Hustle and I must say you three really know how. Maybe we can convince you to perhaps give some Disco dance lessons early on in the evening for some $$$.  I remember teaching an hour class at Don Jose's in Monte Clair back in the early 80's and how much fun everyone had learning some new moves.  What do you think?
