Conga Room


5364 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles CA. 323-938-1696. ... 2 blocks west of La Brea on the Miracle Mile, south side of Wilshire Blvd. Opening in february 1998, it is devoted to Latin music and dance. Dress well and dress hot. 21 and over with valid ID. Admission discounts for most shows with dinner. The Conga Room gets some excellent well known Latin entertainment. It is open Wednesday through Saturday with primarily Salsa Orchestras. Music usually starts at 10:00pm. Some nights have dance lessons early. Some comedy acts. The Ballroom has a stage and lots of dance space. Popular nights are standing room only. There is also a room, called the Conga Room, which can hold private parties up to 50 guests. Fine dining is available in La Boca del Conga Room. The Cigar Lounge offers a more low key and intimate area to relax. The Cigar Lounge is sometimes reserved for VIP guests. Martini Lounge

5657 Melrose Ave., Hollywood 323-467-4068 ... Three blocks east of Vine Street on the north side of Melrose Ave. Free parking across the street. Nicely appointed rock spot has two bars, good sized dance floor with stage. Features lots of local groups of all types. Music starts at 9:00pm. Full bar. 21 and over.
