In the 80s they said "Disco is Dead" But it came back. Some use to say "Disco Sucks"
I have read the great postings you put up on all the disco websites....and I am in amazement that people like you are creating a movement were we are being respectful and kind to one another. This is what makes people want to attend an event. People go where they feel comfortable. Yes who is djing, where the event is being held, the cost to get in, the tangibles will always be there, but you go where your friends are. You are creating a community, which will become the new era of Disco. We need to pass on this legacy of music we call Disco. We thank those that were the founders of the Disco in the community. Now it is time to thank those that have put in the work to keep the legacy alive, so we can pass it on to our youth before we loose it again for another thirty years. I salute all those who were there when Disco was born, but I bow and praise all those that wanted to be there but where to young to go out. Instead the young had there own backyard parties and high school dances. Now they are leading the way for all of us. We are passing the baton on to a new generation. Let us teach the young so that we never lose the Disco Era again.
Thank you all, the promoters, djs, lighting people, poets, writers, dancers, owners, photographers and most of all the people who bare no title, but without these people there is no Disco. All together we comprise the old and the new era of Disco
it's been in my soull and heart and cassette player all along......cassette player, what's that?????? LOL!!!! I know that when my son turns 21, still along way away, he's only 18....I'm gonna take him to Circus, gonna drag him there to see it all....and I hope Disco is still around for him to dance at....if not I will take my cassettes and CD's and be the DJ myself for the night........LOL!!!!! I'll throw my own disco event, me and my cane.....anyway Disco will never die as long as there are individuals who love it..... remember that history repeat's itself.....ALWAYS!!!!!

Hey Rudedawg!
You write from the and I like that! The part you stated above describes me & my brother completely as we were youngins and used to have to stay in our rooms when my parents would have their disco parties in the family room! (Around 1976) But we'd still peek in at the party in awe and I couldn't wait to dance like them! LOL! Yes it's true...in highschool we'd do the backyard parties and hs dances and couldn't wait to get in the clubs!!! Sometimes I'd successfully be able to use a fake ID to get into a few! Now my brother is a dj...has been since he was in hs and so is my dh. We've already got our 6 yr old neice singing and dancing to disco too! So as we all plant little DISCO seeds then it will continue to grow in our next generations' hearts! As I stated before...DISCO was born to be alive! Have a blessed weekend everyone!!
DISCO WILL CONTINUE TO EXIST THROUGH OUR CHILDREN AND PASSED ON TO THEIR CHILDREN AS LONG AS PEOPLE SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT WITHOUT GREEDY AND TO SUPPORT ALL GROUPS THIS MOVEMENT WILL GROW FASTER THAN MY FLYING DISCO KICK FURTHER MORE FASHIOMS COME AND GO BUT THE MUSIC REMAINS THE SAME LET'S CHERISH WHAT WE ARE A PART OF AND THAT IS A PART OF HISTORY OUR GREAT GREAT GRAND CHILDREN WILL ONE DAY REMEMBER OUR DISCO MUSIC AND DANCE STYLES JUST AS WE REMEMBER THE FIRST MAN THAT WALKED ON THE MOON!!!!!!!!!
You are the future that will be around to tell the great "back in the day" stories. But, it will be your generation, after the founders are gone that will show the way to the young, what disco was truly about. Yes, the fore -fathers and mothers of Disco will always be remembered, but who will plant the new seeds so that the disco grapevine bears sweet wine. I tell you it will be the Disco Princesses and Blondies, and Disco Esters, and Disco Irmas and the Sister Cindy's that will be around to tell the stories of how the seeds were planted!

Hi Rudy Disco Brother....
I love your posting! And here's my little opinion
Disco will not die....I'll tell you why....hey that rhymes...anyway... My 16 year old just told me 2 days ago that she likes Disco! That is a very good thing...cuz usually she likes Rap A Dap Dap! LOL but I always respect her music and choices...and I like some of it too
So....a new trend is starting with the young people...
Dan & I are from the time when Disco was born, we lived it, breathed it, loved it...we remember when the promoters and DJ's would attend each others parties or "gigs" what we used to call them back in the day , we saw them shake hands, hug, congratulate each other on the crowd, music, etc. share ideas...there was an amazing comraderie... And let me tell you....we were party animals...we went everywhere...partied Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday....of course I didn't meet Dan til 1995 but we compared notes...we crossed each others path so many times at some of these "gigs" and yet never met...I wonder why? So many crowds of people at each party maybe LOL....and I also believe it just wasn't our time to meet each other yet....fate and destiny have their way....
We are just happy that nobody from any of these disco sites has told us "Hey...you're too old" Or...You're NOT IN IT" LOL They've all welcomed us and we still love to dance...a little crickity but we try....
It's nice to age gracefully....I also remember a time when I'd walk up to the bar and about 4 guys would run up and offer to buy me a drink(not an exaggeration)or call out Hey...beautiful... to me...I loved every minute of it...and I'd always get in free and not have to stand in line.... alas...those days are gone now...now I have one special man that buys me a drink or two and he's the only one that says "hey beautiful" because he loves me We still get in free at some places...only cuz Dan knows alot of nightclub owners ....lol
Thank you for allowing me to post my memories of Disco Yesteryear
I introduced Disco to all my nieces, nephews, cousins, & some friends back in the 90's and they all loved it. I was able to tell a few (those I got hold of) that it was coming back to Circus and they were all excited about it. I brought brought one niece with me for the opening at Circus which was nice. My sister was coming too but unfortunately the plane didn't arrive on time (she was returning from Mexico) but I know she will be going next time around.
I'm spreading the Disco word in which ever form I can because I know many people have asked me if I knew of any places that still play Disco.
Well look no further, Circus Disco is alive and continues to bring smiles to many.

Hi TSG...cool
Last night Dan & I attended a huge Disco party...LeVissio at the Granada in Alhambra...was awesome and great...lots of people there. ...the DJ announced Circus to everyone...that's so wonderful...reminded me of the old Disco days when promoters & DJ's would let everyone know about all of the parties....that's called Class, Honor, Respect and Friendship....Kudos to them for that
Hi Cindi! That was cool of the DJ. Hopefully other disco event/parties (DJs) do the same and continue to announces the return of disco at CIRCUS DISCO .
