50 Cent Booed Off Stage Right about now, we're thinking 50 Cent would have rather been in da club than on da stage.
The chart-topping hip-hopster cut short his set at Britain's Reading Festival over the weekend after getting booed and pelted with plastic bottles by a hostile audience just minutes after he began performing.
Accompanied by his G-Unit crew, 50 Cent hadn't even taken the stage at the legendary U.K. music bash on Sunday evening when the cranky crowd of 55,000 began yelling insults at the former crack peddler and hurling plastic cups.
Sunshine Band Leader Sued by Ex-Singers KC & The Sunshine Band leader Harry Casey is being sued by two former back-up singers over alleged unpaid royalties.
Margaret Reynolds and Jeanette Wright Williams claim the "Get Down Tonight" singer has robbed them of hundreds of thousands of dollars after leaving the group.
The singers, who claim they came up with the group's hit phrase "That's the Way (I Like It)," have performed with KC & The Sunshine Band since the 1970s, when they claim they were promised a percentage of all royalties.
Reynolds says, "We were a family. Whatever KC wanted, we were going to give him."
She says the last straw came when Casey ignored them at his 50th birthday party in 2001: "He acted like he didn't even know us... You can't do people like that, you've got to remember where you came from." A spokesman for the group insists the lawsuit amounts to nothing more than blackmail and the women have been properly paid.
PIONEERING LA HIP HOP STATION RETURNS: K-Day broadcasts after 13-year absence.
*For all of the Gen-X hip hop fans in Los Angeles ? this next one's for you. K-DAY is back on the air, blasting hip hop all over the Southland. At noon Monday, Styles Media officially assumed control of KZAB/Los Angeles and simulcast partner KZBA/Riverside, flipping the former Tropical format back to its original all-rap set-up.
The original KDAY was one of the nation's first stations to embrace hip-hop, airing at 1580 kHz from the early 1980s until its 1991 sign-off. Its world-famous program director/DJ, Greg Mack, was the man who convinced Eazy E of NWA to make clean versions of their records so that he could play them on the air, thus bringing NWA's genre-shifting lyrics to the masses.
The new 93.5 K-Day kicked off with a two- minute documentary featuring Rick Party, who has signed on as the station's voice. For its first hour, the station sounded just like old times, with songs from West coast veterans NWA, DJ Quik, 2PAC and Snoop Dogg, as well as LL Cool J, 50 Cent and Lil' Flip.
"How many times can you get to do this?"
Styles Media Managing Member Don McCoy told "R&R."
"There's no market like this. My whole life has been a 'get ready' for this moment."

Michael Jackson is considering suing Eminem over his new video depicting the star playing with children. (10/14/04)
The Just Lose It promo features Eminem dressed as Jackson, losing his cosmetically enhanced nose and jumping on a bed with young children.
The Jacko character is also vomited on by the real Eminem and also douses his flaming hair by sticking his head down a toilet.
Jackson branded the video 'disrespectful' and is determined to have it banned, reports the Daily Star.
"The Jackson family feels the video is demeaning and disrespectful. Michael is very displeased and doesn't want it shown," a Jackson spokesperson said.
A source close to Jackson said: "The entire video is a send-up of Michael Jackson. Michael is very upset and is going crazy over it. Don't be surprised if he sues over this."
